Description of Business Idea

I am going to increase the volumes of my pig breeding farm by 10 pigs having totally 13 mother pigs. During 2010 I am planning to produce 110 piglets and about 2.5 ton meat. After 1 year in 2011 the production of pig meat will be increased twice reaching 5 ton. The value of piglet production will not been changed.

Market Analysis and Market Share

The main products of my firm are piglets and pig meat. The meat will be generally sold by the local resellers in Yerevan city’s “GUM” meat market. 500 000 kg of pig meat is sold in this market annually. The piglets will be sold directly from the farm to the families in Ijevan region.
In Yerevan a family used about 5 kg pig meat annually. The price for pig meat is unstable and depends on current quantity in market. The minimum price for the pig meat is 2000 AMD in market and the maximum is 3500 AMD.
I will have about 5% market share in the Ijevan region and about 1% market share in Yerevan. I have already made arrangements with the resellers in Yerevan and Ijevan region as well.

Competition Analysis

There are about 20 farms of pig breeding in Tavush marz. My pig breeding farm has some advantages: I have 4 hectares of land area. There are fruit trees in my land. The fruits from those trees are high quality natural feeds for the pigs. The river “Qaratak” flows across my land.
